In my room this week, I had lots of children visiting me for the first time ever. There was a great variety of activities and everyone enjoyed themselves. Catherine made a lovely Angelina Ballerina jigsaw. Aidan went fishing! James built caves and bridges with blocks. Leon and Raveen made worms and hedgehogs with Play-doh. Ryan, Yisola and Alex created really hard sums for each other. Hugh, Padraig and Charlie told fantastic stories. Alex and I pretended to be farm … [Read more...]
Give a compliment!
As promised, here is the first Positive Language tip for you. I hope to see lots of this around the school next week... Think of a genuine compliment you can pay someone and do it! Just go up to them and tell them ... - what a good writer he/she is - that you love his/her outfit - that he/she is a really good friend - that his/her eyes are a lovely colour or whatever compliment you can think of. It has to be real though! You have to mean it! Have a great weekend. … [Read more...]

Tip-toeing 2nd class break the record!
Congratulations to 2nd class who broke a record this week! The record for sneaking past the reception desk without being spotted was previously held by last year's 3rd class, who managed it twice. This week, 2nd class did it 4 times! While we encourage interactions and don't ask the children to walk in silence, we do ask everyone to be respectful of the work-space of others. We recognise that the foyer and reception area is Karina's work space as well as the first impression any new … [Read more...]
